We've got a new base at Countess Ablaze. One of the Countess's greatest joys, when she began to knit, was hand-dyed textured yarn from Collinette - an incredible hand dyer who retired a couple of years ago. And if there was something she desperately wanted, it was a fingering weight slub yarn. Finally, Chester Wool Co came to the rescue with this stunner.
Whilst it does contain nylon, it's more as a ply to create the slub (thick and thin) effect so we don't recommend this for socks. But we're craving lofty shawls with this and there's even talk of the Countess getting the weaving loom out.
If you don't fancy your project to be all-over textured, why not try combining it with a smoother plied yarn.
