Hand-dyed yarns are unique and each skein can have subtle differences. If using more than one skein, alternate skeins every few rows to blend the colours.

So our yarn dealer calls this yarn base Zebra Yarn and it's clear to see why. That barber pole black and white effect is a dead-ringer for a stripy horse. But this is me and it got me thinking, just because the yarn dealer calls it Zebra, it doesn't mean that I have to.

So my thought process went:
Zebra >> animal print >> Betty Page >> Rockabilly

Introducing Rockabilly to Countess Ablaze; our subscribers to our yarn club Yarn Cartel got hold of this first in March 2021. This superwash merino yarn is available in both fingering and DK weights as a unicorn yarn meaning we'll have it in stock occasionally as a treat. It has two plies are one-ply has black merino sporadically hijacking it to create this animal print effect.

Supersoft, bouncy and drinks the dye.

The merino wool has been superwash treated but as I always recommend, wash in hand-warm water by hand with a smidge of washing up liquid to preserve the vivid dye. We use professional acid dyes in a custom-built yarn dyeing studio in Manchester city centre, UK.
