So you're in the market for sock yarn (this is me, I literally mean for sock knitting), that isn't superwash treated, doesn't contain nylon and gives you a high when you give it a good sniff. Introducing our new sock yarn Auntie Plastique ;)
Mohair is your nylon substitute here as it's tough as fuck due to a very long staple length. Grown, processed and spun by the fab folk at Laxtons in Yorkshire, dyed by the Countess and Blazin'Squad in Manchester city centre.
Country of Origin
Falkland wool and British mohair spun in the UK
50% Corriedale & 50% Mohair
100 grams / 3.5 oz
2.25 - 3.5 mm
Notes about hand dyed yarn
Yarns are unique and there will be small differences between skeins, even if dyed in the same batch
Brits - we're unashamedly awkward, we apologise to inanimate objects when we bump into them, we're obsessed with the weather and we drink tea with our pinkie finger out. We make fun of British stereotypes with this REBEL BATCH.
Colourways are not repeatable so grab as many skeins as you need for your project.
KIVA - From 1st April 2019, a percentage of our sales at www.countessablaze.com and in-store will be used as microloans on Kiva. Kiva is a worldwide project specialising in microfinancing small businesses and individuals who are locked out of accessing business aid from mainstream banks and organisations. Microfinancing gives people an opportunity to begin businesses, or grow them and a number are textiles based. Arts based loans will be our major interest.
