In fact, I have had a couple over the years, all very different styles and all have been of benefit to me in some way. But there was one sticking point that grated on my nerves; business buzzwords.
No, I do not want to "hustle."
"Leverage my business" - you what?
"Touch base" - we're not playing sports!
So we have thrown shade at all these words that I despise with yarn colourway names.
For my sanity, I no longer have a "business coach."

We get told to be on every social media platform.
Then some coaches say "choose the ones you like the most" or "be where your people are."
The Countess school of marketing would terrify these coaches. I took my business OFF social media and sales went up.
"Let's unpack that" - reminds me far too much of therapy and it drives me batty there too.
No, I don't want to unpack that. I want to internalise it in my head until rage turns into a sharp idea and exceeds all my intentions. I'm crap at listening to advice and "unpacking."
Believe it or not, I've successfully got to 8 years and 11 months of business with minimal collaboration. I believe collaboration should be of mutual benefit and I will use my platform to raise others. I won't ride someone else's coattails. Notice we don't make Westknits kits. This is why.
The word synergy makes me cringe like the words moist and spasm make me recoil. There's something about the word that makes me feel just ick.
Someone called me an influencer once. They were never allowed to speak to me again... ;)
