The Odyssey Trail KAL

March 15, 2015

As promised at the start of the year, there will be The Odyssey Trail KAL! There will be chances to win fabulous prizes!

I want you to take your inspiration from Greece and you can be as literal or conceptual as you desire. You may have fond memories of a holiday in Greece, you might like a particular Greek myth or a love of the Greek Key motif.

I have created a Bundle of patterns in the Countess Ablaze Ravelry group that we can collectively curate and I have got the ball rolling with a few ideas. I would like you to feel free to add your own, they could be a great help for anybody looking for inspiration.

Here’s how it works:

The KAL will run from April 1st to June 1st 2015.

  • You may use any yarn that suits your project but to be eligible to win prizes, a minimum of 50% of your project must be from Countess Ablaze. Also, for the spinners, handspun yarns made from Countess Ablaze fibres count as well!

  • There will be two thread, one for chattering and KAL-ing and another thread where completed projects are submitted to be eligible for prizes. (As with previous KALs, moderators are not eligible for prizes).

  • Projects must be completed by June 1st at noon BST.

  • Please make sure that your project is submitted to the separate prize thread by Thursday 4th June 11pm BST. The thread will be locked after this.

  • Prizes will be drawn on Friday 5th June.

  • Your project is eligible for two entries into the prize draw. ///If you use 50% - 99% of CA yarn/fibre, you get one entry. ///If you use 100% of CA yarn/fibre, you get two entries.

  • I’d like you to write a short sentence about how or why your project is inspired by Greece when you submit to the prize thread. Your entry will be void without this.

  • Prizes will be drawn by a RNG generator.

  • The Prizes - oh yes, there WILL be prizes!

    • A £50 gift voucher to spend at Countess Ablaze
    • A £25 gift voucher to spend at Countess Ablaze
    • A £10 gift voucher to spend at Countess Ablaze

I’m looking forward to seeing what you all come up with. Join us in the Countess Ablaze Ravelry group to participate. Happy knitting!
