French Cancan

I really don’t seem to be knitting as much the past few months as usual. I think I’m in a bit of a slump. I’m working on French Cancan by Mademoiselle C at the moment using some DK-ish weight handspun that I’ve made from some batts that are going in Friday’s update. They're merino, Angelina fibres and sari silk threads in tons of colours to sparkle against the black wool.

Shawl : French Glitz

I’m a lot further along now and am half way through the border and I’m loving how it’s looking. Most of the projects already done of this pattern look beautifully serene so I was wondering if it would work with a bit of colour. Anyway I’m frustrated with myself for completely forgetting how dense this yarn is that I’ve spun. The patterns says to leave x% left for the border so I left myself x% + 10grams to be sure. (It’s a paid pattern so I don’t like putting what the percentage is). I’m at exactly 50% along the border and I’ve run out of yarn. I’ll never learn. So I had 5 batt sets ready for the update. I think I need to make that 4 sets now.
