It's Knit in Public Day, this Saturday. No I don't get why we need a day to celebrate knitting in public because most knitters and crocheters that I've met will happily do it in public without fanfare.
However, if you fancy knitting in a place with knitters (or crocheting in a place with crocheters), I open my dye studio on Saturdays. The usual knit group will be there between 1-3 but you'd be welcome at any time of the day. I always have cake and coffee on the go. My regular knit group attendants are the friendliest people that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and we love to welcome newcomers.
I haven't made a big deal out of this event as my autism is making me feel a bit peopled out at the moment. Whilst I'll warmly welcome you, you'll be encouraged to help yourself in the kitchen but I'll make sure that there's plenty of fresh cake to compensate.
