A lot of people ask me where the colourway names come from. To me, each colourway tells a story. Let me tell you about the story of this one, 'Break Me Down.'
Eight years ago, I was widowed. I was in my mid 20s and had a small child. My husband died of multiple organ failure and it was an incredibly difficult time.
Now this story relies on Gallow's Humour. On the day of the funeral, I was in the limo feeling a bit shell shocked. There were other relatives with me, including a four year old - our daughter.
We were sat in silence, awkwardly. All of a sudden, this little voice starts to bellow out:
"Coooooome, break me down. Bury me, bury me, I am finished with you."
That's right, the most inappropriate 30 Seconds To Mars song you could think of. It was *wonderful* - we were in hysterics, her dad would have loved it.
'Break Me Down' - the moment of darkness, that leads to chaos, to laughter and to hope. My memory, in a colourway.
