With the power of Picmonkey, you too can whip up a ridiculously over-the-top Happy Birthday in the time it takes for the kettle to boil to make yourself a cuppa.
It’s not my birthday but it is the two year birthday of Countess Ablaze. To think, two years ago today I listed my first items on Etsy and had absolutely no expectations, just a case of wait and see what happens. Now I have a Big-Girl website for the shop, a dye studio built in my house and more dyeing gadg than you can shake a stick at, or rather a stirring spoon. These days I spend my life with constant pink and blue dyed fingers (a dyer’s hands are rarely glamourous) wearing a dye splattered apron and chucking dye into pots to see what will happen. There is yarn everywhere.
As a HUGE thank you for all your continued support, your kind words, your custom and even the hand written thank you notes that I’ve received (those totally rock!) I’m having a quick giveaway on the Countess Ablaze Ravelry Group to win two skeins of either BFL & nylon sock yarn or two skeins of BFL DK – I’ll even custom dye them for you.
Chrissy of Stitched Together writes lovely things about my Count Cashmerino High Twist yarn in the “This Ain’t A Scene” colourway. Chrissy was also my very first customer and she’s stuck with me so I can’t be too bad.
If you too would like to make a living out of knitting, there’s a funny article on MoneyMagpie about how you can make a fortune by hand knitting ten jumpers in a week. Obviously not written by a knitter.
